Why November?

I’m taking  a brief moment to say that I am participating in  NaNoWriMo this year and I have my work cut out for me. I have entered a writing contest on DeviantARt, have a magazine article to write and I’m working on writing Book 3 in The Darkness Trilogy. I’m up to my eyeballs in writing and I can’t say that I’m complaining. Although, why November was chosen for NaNoWriMo is still a mystery to me.

Let’s see, there is Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales, cooking, traveling, family, kids are out of school, Christmas is just around the corner and all that jazz. It seems to me that January would have been a better month. It’s still freezing cold outside so you’ll want to stay indoors. Also, there is nothing that really happens in January. That’s also when people feel energized to start fresh and reach whatever goal they’ve set for themselves. I could see a million writers banging away at the keyboards on January 1st.

But hey, what do I know?! Just participate in NaNoWriMo if you get the chance. You won’t regret it.
